Abstract:

The aim of this cross-sectional study was to compare the six maxillary anterior TEETH, among Iranian population, with their corresponding ARTIFICIAL TEETH available on Iran market. One hundred people, half male and half female, age ranging from 20-30 years old, were selected. Variables such as face morphology, the width, length of the central tooth and also the width of the six maxillary anterior TEETH were investigated and compared with the products of 5 companies (Ideal maco, Marjan, Vitapan, Ivoc1ar, Acry Rock). The results showed that the centrals morphology can be predicted upto 76% and it should be noted that the Ideal maco products. consider face morphology more than Marjan company products. However, both companies produce TEETH of smaller size than Iranian natural TEETH.No proper ARTIFICIAL TEETH. are available for relatively big size faces or those with regularsize. From among forgein companies, Vitapan and Ivoc1ar produce the most proper artifical TEETH for Iranian population regarding size and morphology. It should be mentioned that AcryRock products provide us with TEETH of completely proper size although Iranian face morphology have not been considered by this company.

Abstract:

Introduction: Wear resistance of ARTIFICIAL TEETH has an important role in denture longevity. The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate wear resistance of four brands of ARTIFICIAL TEETH.Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study four brands of ARTIFICIAL TEETH, including Apple, Yaghoot, Glamour and Ivoclar were used. Ten maxillary first premolars were selected from each set and were fixed in autopolymerizing acrylic resin. Wear test was performed for 1000 and 2000 cycles. Heights of the TEETH were measured under a light microscope before and after wear cycles.Data were analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan tests (a=0.05).Results: ANOVA showed that mean wear rate of the TEETH in both 1000 and 2000 cycles had significant differences (p value<0.001). According to Duncan test, except for Apple and Yaghoot, other groups had significant differences with each other (p value2=0.314), (p value1=0.289).Conclusion: It was concluded from the results of the present study that wear rate of Ivoclar TEETH was significantly lower than that in other groups. Glamour, Yaghoot and Apple TEETH showed the highest rate of wear, respectively.

Abstract:

Introduction: Wear resistance of acrylic TEETH has an important role in denture longevity. The purpose of this study was to compare the tooth wear rate of three kinds of ARTIFICIAL TEETH manufactured in Iran with the one manufactured in Italy.  Materials & Methods: In this experimental in vitro study, four kinds of ARTIFICIAL TEETH (Italian Ivoclar, Yaghoot, Herasit plus, Acradent) were used. Nine molars were selected from each tooth. Samples were prepared as cylinders with 2.5mm diameters. The samples were thermocycled for 2500 times (5oC-55oC) and then scaled with 1/100000 gram accuracy. ARTIFICIAL saliva was added to wearing device and wearing was performed for 2000 cycles (125m). Samples were rescaled. The disk and saliva were exchanged and the procedure was repeated for 5000 cycles (439.6m). The rescaling was as well performed. Wear rate was calculated for 2000 and 7000 cycles and was compared for different TEETH. The data were analysed by Multivariate ANOVA and Tukey test. Results: Tooth wear after 2000 cycles was 0.018 for Ivoclar, 0.025 for yaghoot, 0.071 for Acradent and 0.379 mgr/m for Herasit. After 7000 Cycles, wear rates were 0.012, 0.019, 0.055 and 0.14 mgr/m respectively.  Conclusion: Wear rate of Herasit and Acradent ARTIFICIAL TEETH were significantly different from eachother and from Yaghoot and Ivoclar ARTIFICIAL TEETH but Yaghoot and Ivoclar TEETH had no significant difference in wear rate.

Background and Aims: Debonding of denture TEETH from the denture base can be frustrating for both clinician as well as patient. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different tooth preparation on the tensile bond strength of composite denture TEETH to acrylic denture base material.Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 108 anterior Glamour TEETH were selected and divided into 9 groups, based on their preparation (physical: no physical change, Glaze removal, Creating two slots with 1.5 mm depth, Creating a hole with 2.5mm depth. Chemical: (without chemical materials, monomer, silane). Specimens were prepared and tested according to the methods of the International standards organization (ISO 20795-1). After attachment of TEETH to acryl, the tensile bond stregth test was performed in a Universal Testing Machine (UTM) with a crosshead speed of 1mm/min and specimens were subjected to tensile force until failure. Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA, Tukey HSD and Two-way ANOVA.Results: There were significant differences between the bond strength of tested groups (P=0.012). Based on Tukey test, there was a significant difference between monomer/without physical change group and without/without (P<0.001) and control group. No significant differences were found between the bond strengths of the other groups (P=0.17). All specimens were debonded as cohesive failure. Conclusion: Application of monomer on the ridge lap surface led to improve the tensile bond strength between glamour composite denture TEETH and Iranian acrylic resin, however physical changes were not effective. According to the cohesive failure of all the specimens, it can be concluded that that the bond strength between this type of TEETH and acrylic resin is stronger than the internal strength of TEETH.

Statement of Problem: Choosing an appropriate tooth for edentulous patients is a very important step in dentistry.Purpose: This research has been done for determination of proper procedure for tooth selection in edentulous patients. Methods and Materials: In this cross- sectional study 100 student and people who have come to a medical center (range 20-30 years old) were collected randomly and the size of their anterior TEETH was determined. A gauge with 0.01 mm accuracy and flexible plastic millimeter was used in order for measurement of anatomic landmark. For achieving the relation between the sizes of TEETH statistical analysis was done. Results: 50% of patients were female and the other 50% were male. We found a relationship between mesiodistal width of six maxillary anterior TEETH and mesiodistal width of six mandibullary TEETH that can be shown as follow: In men: six mandibular anterior TEETH width= 0.83 × width of six maxillary anterior TEETH -2.008 In women: six mandibular anterior TEETH width= 0.56 × width of six maxillary anterior TEETH + 9.53 Also strong meaningful relationships between width of six anterior maxillary TEETH and the width between corners of the lip in curve position have been noticed only in men which can be show as follow: width of Six mandibular anterior TEETH= 39.63 + 0.21+ the width between corners of lip in curve position for men Conclusion: Although there are different ways for prediction of TEETH size, it seems these findings can be helpful in determining and prediction of it.

Introduction: Denture cleansers effectively reduce plaque formation, nonetheless, there is a dearth of studies on their efficiency in stain removal and the reduction of multispecies biofilms. The present study aimed to determine the ability of different denture cleansers to remove different stains. Methods: A total of 90 central incisors with A1 color were randomly assigned to three groups. Specimens were immersed into three staining solutions (black tea, coffee, and wine). After staining, colorimetry measurements were made, and specimens were immersed in denture cleansers (Protefix Active Cleanser and Aktident Cleansing Tablet) or tap water (control). Color difference (Δ, E*ab) was determined after two, four, and six months (n=10). Data were statistically analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis analysis and Dunn's multiple comparison test at the %95 confidence level. Results: There was no significant difference between the stain removal efficacy of denture cleansers and the control group for all staining solutions. When the Δ, E*ab values were compared according to different time periods, specimens exposed to three different staining solutions and cleaned by denture cleaners and tap water showed no significant difference (P>0. 05). In all time periods, TEETH exposed to tea and immersed in the Protefix demonstrated higher color difference values (Δ, E*ab>5. 5). Color differences of all groups were perceptible to the eye (Δ, E*ab>1. 8). There were no significant differences among denture cleansers in different time periods (P>0. 05). Conclusion: There was no significant difference among the denture cleansers regarding stain removal capacity. The soaking time of stained ARTIFICIAL TEETH in denture cleansers did not change their color.

Introduction: A lot of industrial products and consumer resources have important role in human exposure and receiving yearly radiation dose limit.Radioactive products have been used in denture TEETH and Porcelain powders for flourescence properties for long time in dentistry. Because of the most of the people used Porcelain powder and denture, this became an emotion to survey the rate of relative reactivity of powders and inform the laboratory personals. Objective: Determine the relative radioactivity of ARTIFICIAL TEETH used in dentures and in porcelain powders.Materials and Methods: In this laboratovary-experimental study six samples of porcelain powders (ceramco III opaque, ceramco III dentin, ceramco II opaque, ceramco II dentin, noritake dentin EX3 and noritake incisal) and two samples of anterior and posterior ARTIFICIAL TEETH with polymer base (marjan and shanghy) were used and about 3gr of each sample was placed in front of the scintillator detector NaI (ti) s' window. The number of emission in one houre was measured during each stage. Back ground radiation was measured in several stages. Samples and background radiations ratio were measured by means of paired t test. Data were analyzed by SPSS soft ware. Results: Radioactive properties of different porcelain powders and mentioned denture TEETH were significantly lower than back ground radiation.Ceramco III opaque porcelain powder showed the most radioactive properties and marjan denture TEETH showed the least. Conclusion: This study confirmed previous studies about low rate of radioactivity properties of samples relative to back ground radiation and indicated if safety precautionse are observed no problem should rise for dental technicians.
